Blogging

Here I am at Hofstra and I am blogging about blogging. I believe that blogging is writing in a basic yet amazing form. Writers can now post everything that they think of with the ability to share it to friends and family. It's an amazing way to keep the world together, the way writing has been doing for years. I've always held the opinion that writing is something that humanity uses for the good of ourselves, but not in a greedy way. I think that humanity has perfected writing so we may also use it against ourselves. So basically, just like anything else, writing has been put to good use and it has been put to bad and egotistical uses.
Hansel and Gretel, a child's fairy tale, is being greedily exploited by the corporation. AT&T uses this youth tale to promote themselves. Picturing 2 children dressed as Hansel and Gretel, German characters recorded by the Brother Grimm, in a big city who are struck by the largeness of everything. Walking through the city with a bag on a stick and a basket of bread, they use the bread crumbs to create a trail through the city. One by one, Gretel drops the bread, and one by one the bread pieces get destroyed by the city. After all, what do the city goers care about these 2 children? When they reach the end of the journey as the bread runs out, they realize that the big city has ruined their way home. Stores are closing around them and darkness has already fallen, these poor children stuck in the city with no way home. But wait, whats that in Gretel's pocket? It's lint, it's a pen, no, it's the all new GPS phone from AT&T! Let's set it to the cottage and skip our way home. Of course AT&T wouldn't miss the opportunity to display their famous icon, so they used the buildings to show that you'll always have cell service, no matter where you are or where you're coming from.
